KURTZ DOES IT AGAIN

I am so grateful for all the people who have donated so far to the “Love, Rachel Kurtz” project!! I am so excited to make this record! While I was in Detroit at the ELCA Youth Gathering, I listened to a talk by my friend, Mikka McCracken, and she was talking about hunger related issues and her optimism that these are solvable problems in our world. One point that she made sticks with me even today. The food wasted in America per year would fill Ford Field not just once or twice but 296 times!! AGAPE* (aka David Scherer), Joe Davis and I are doing a Rise up Together tour this fall. Dave and I are participating in a “friendly” competition to raise funds for ELCA World Hunger via the Walk for Water campaign. I realized if was trying to raise funds for my album it would distract from this incredible campaign. I have decided to put my record on hold until later in the winter so this fall I give wholeheartedly to this effort. I love making music and I love facilitating positive change in the world even more. I love our church!! I am so proud to be a Lutheran.

Get your youth group together and start setting goals. Give Christmas gifts to your family this year by giving in their honor. We can make a difference together!!!

Love,

Rachel Kurtz

If you have already donated you have three options: I am happy to refund your donation, or hold it until the project happens or my personal favorite, donate it to Team Rachel for the Walk for Water campaign and I will still honor all of your rewards when the record is complete.

I want to thank you for taking the time to look through this page. The reason I am personally crowdfunding it rather then through a service like kickstarter, is that it allows me to reach my goal and not give 10% of the money earned to things like paypal or kickstarter. I am very passionate about giving you your rewards and can not wait to create music with you!

Your gifts go directly to things like hiring a bass player, or horn section. It can directly impact studio time and printing time. I could wait and save for ages but the reality with independent musicians is we just want to create great music and can’t do alone. If you always dreamed of making music and wished you had certain gifts, this is your chance to make an album!!

Thank you so much for allowing me to create and joining me in this process.

Love,

Rachel Kurtz
